Tasman Medical Centre is in the heart of beautiful Richmond, Nelson and offers a friendly, supportive and professional team of GP's, nurses and administrative staff.

Our practice is part of the many health services provided at this location, including a pharmacy, dental, physio, nutrition, specialists and cafe. To be successful in this role you will need to have:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • An ability to learn quickly, including using our healthcare software and following processes

  • Some experience in administration or reception duties
  • Previous experience as a medical receptionist would be an advantage

As a practice nurse at Tasman Medical, you will be given ongoing support to learn and be responsible for triaging urgent and non-urgent patients, undertaking wound care, immunizations and other tasks that you may have experience in. Additional tasks may include, providing IV fluids, iron infusions and spirometry test to name a few.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our busy, committed and professional general practice healthcare team.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A current NZ APC
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly, caring, reliable and professional personality
  • An appetite to learn
  • Proficient computer skills
  • An ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team

The following would also be of advantage:

  • Previous practice nurse experience
  • Proficiency with Medtech Evolution or a similar PMS
  • Vaccinations (authorised independent certificate)

Health Care Assistant

We are a supportive, and caring team who are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our busy, general practice team.

You would be working closely with our team of tight knit medical professionals, and be responsible for completing screening checks, recalls and medical supply management. We are ultimately looking for someone that is people focused and wanting to make a difference in the community.

Full training will be provided but previous experience in healthcare is a plus. For the right candidate working arrangements may be negotiable.

What you will bring to the role:

  • A positive and encouraging attitude towards helping our patients.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with patients and their whanau.
  • A team player who looks after and cares about patients and colleagues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience completing administrative functions.
  • An ability to interact with a diverse range of people.
  • An ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a clinic or community setting would be an advantage.
  • Experience in basic health care e.g., wound care, blood pressure checks, would also be beneficial (although full training is provided).

Our General Practitioner's (GP) are appropriately qualified and registered medical professionals with knowledge and skills to provide personal, family, whanau and community orientated comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals. As part of the general practice team he/she is responsible for providing patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to a defined population.

GP fees are paid at the agreed sessional rate. Each session is 4 hours / 12 patients (or pro rata), afternoon or morning.

Dr Katy Roff, Dr Michelle Cliffe and Dr Bee Hildick-Smith all offer Skin services at TMC. This includes full body checks, and minor skin surgery. All are accredited through Skin Cancer College Australasia. Please phone our reception to  arrange an appropriate appointment.
