Dr Pieter Raps
Pieter comes from the Netherlands and was raised near Amsterdam. He first studied Physiotherapy before starting his Medicine courses. After becoming a doctor Pieter worked in cardiology and internal medicine, before becoming a general practitioner.
Working and living abroad has been a long lasting desire for Pieter and his family, so after graduating they started making plans. After working as a locum for 10 months they moved to New Zealand together with their two children, Olivia and Benjamin.
Pieter enjoys all aspects of general medicine, having a particular interest in psychological and chronic health problems. He also has extra experience with physical problems from his physiotherapy training. Lifestyle is an important part of helping health problems and this is embedded in the way Pieter works.
